I'm reaching out again because this is urgent and I hope you can help. It's November 4th, and the super El Niño is still gathering force. Fuelled by climate breakdown, it's on track to be the most powerful ever recorded. A behemoth that will scorch and starve vast areas of the planet -- expected to kill up to 450,000 people by February. Sudan will be among the hardest hit, where millions are already caught in the biggest hunger crisis on Earth. And with the Amazon rainforest hanging by a thread, the El Niño could push it even closer to collapse. That's why Avaaz is preparing one of our most ambitious action plans ever. In the next six months, we'll get lifesaving support to families in Sudan. We'll mobilise millions to defend the Amazon from ongoing destruction -- and power a historic legal case to hold mega polluters accountable for climate breakdown. Everything Avaaz does is entirely funded by this community. 5,120 Avaaz members have already donated -- halfway to our goal! But if we can't raise enough, we'll be forced to scale back our response, just when the world needs it most. So I'm making a personal appeal to you, Terezinha. Please become an Avaaz Sustainer today, giving our movement the resources to meet the coming storm.

This El Niño is a terrifying warning of what lies ahead if we don't tackle climate breakdown.
Scientists warn that our planet is now on the cusp of irreversible tipping points -- when one small change can trigger enormous consequences. Deforestation and drought could cause a chain-reaction collapse of the Amazon rainforest. Warming seas could wipe out most coral reefs and all the marine life they nurture.
And as far-right leaders attack the courts and our basic freedoms, they make it even harder to confront these global crises.
But tipping points can work in our favour, too. When millions of people come together, what once seemed politically impossible can suddenly become unstoppable.
That's what Avaaz is all about. Finding those opportunities when ordinary people can tip the balance -- and doing the hard work to make it happen. Beyond every petition are the investigations, protests, and relentless advocacy that turn our voices into real change. That's what your donations would fund.
Here's our emergency action plan for the months ahead -- if we raise enough:
- Defend the Amazon before it's too late: Lula may have just won the Brazilian elections, but Congress is now even more anti-Amazon. We'll help Indigenous communities secure legal protections for their lands, restore damaged forests, and mobilise millions against destructive logging, drilling and mining.
- Help families survive the horror in Sudan: As war, hunger and El Niño drive millions deeper into crisis, we'll build global pressure to end the war, push governments to deliver lifesaving aid, and support the community kitchens helping families survive.
- Resist far-right policies and defend human rights: We'll mobilise citizens in Brazil, Germany, France, the UK, and Spain, pushing back on the politics of fear and division to protect human rights and climate action.
- Be there when disaster strikes: We'll launch urgent campaigns and get lifesaving resources to communities facing war and climate emergencies -- just as we did when devastating floods hit the people of Nepal.
We have the people power, the reach and the ambition. Now, if enough of us step up, we could tip the balance -- turning millions of voices into the victories our world so desperately needs. Please join us as an Avaaz Sustainer today.
