But Greenland never gave them permission, and locals now face pressure to cave in to Trump’s oil greed. Stand with Greenlanders now: sign this global call and say No to Trump drilling in Greenland. The Greenland peninsula of Nunap Qeqqa has been a natural gem for millions of years; a stunning tundra landscape with a rich wildlife of Arctic foxes and wild muskoxen. As an internationally protected area, drilling was banned in 2021. Yet a Trump-linked company is about to use an old licence to drill for oil – and they just offloaded equipment without official permission. They aim to extract up to 1 trillion dollars worth of oil from this pristine land! Greenlanders can hardly fight this on their own. Let’s send a huge wave of global support to help Prime Minister Nielsen make the right call: protect Greenland and refuse to be bullied into oil drilling by a superpower. Sign and share now, and we will amplify our voices in the international media:

Dear friends,

Earlier this year, when Trump threatened to invade Greenland, we gathered nearly a million signatures in solidarity with Greenlanders – adding to the international pressure that eventually made him back down. But now he’s back at it, and we need to fight back again.
Nunap Qeqqa is a living sanctuary for wildlife – with one of the densest populations of muskoxen and geese. It is protected by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, where drilling was banned in 2021 because of the enormous damage it would cause.
Inuit organisations across Canada and Alaska have reminded the global community that Arctic sovereignty belongs strictly to the people. But the US company is bulldozing ahead anyway.
Join this crucial moment for international solidarity. If enough of us sign, Avaaz will make sure Greenland’s prime minister hears our voices directly. Sign and share with friends and family – let’s back up Greenland against Trump!
